Re: Fleet Opening Mission: To Our Future - Bryan Abrams - 07-31-2011

Starbase Thrinacia

Bryan yawned as a transmission came through from the Independence he tried to stop himself but he couldn't, once Jack had finished talking he pressed button on the control panel to transmit his audio "The is Bryan Abrams from Thrinacia Air Traffic Control, you are cleared to dock at docking bay 1" as he was talking he opened the space doors for the Independence to dock he then continued "Looks like you got your power back then what was it that went wrong" a conduit behind him overloaded Great he thought sarcastically as he was readying the other docking bays for the ships to dock whilst waiting for Jack to reply that is when his eyes fell on the Majesty that was forced to dock earlier the hull was blackened from phaser fire he hadn't seen it dock earlier due to the fact he was working on a control panel that faced the other way before it exploded in his face he also noticed that you could see straight through sections of the hull from where they had been blasted apart I'd of hated to be on that deck he thought as he saw the bow of the Independence enter the Starbase Bryan had always  loved watching Star Ships performing various maneuvers or operations like docking or flybys that is why he took this job when it became available.

Re: Fleet Opening Mission: To Our Future - Zack Gillibrand - 08-02-2011

USS Independence
Captain's Ready Room
2105 hours

Zack sat down at the chair of his desk...actually, more like flopped into the chair really.  His head felt like a photon grenade had gone off between his ears, and he still had a jagged cut on his forehead that needed to be mended with a dermal regenerator if he wanted to avoid scarring.  All in all, the Independence had been pretty lucky in the battle with the Cardassian fleet; they had suffered relatively minor damage that could be repaired easily before their scheduled departure for Sector 575 tomorrow morning.  Feeling the need for a soothing drink, Zack ordered a cup of sweetened Rigellian Herbal Tea from the replicator unit.  Just the thought of the tea calmed his nerves somewhat.  Zack set down the saucer and teacup next to his computer and began to examine damage reports and repair estimates.

"Computer," he said as he picked up the cup of tea, "load status updates and begin systemic triage. Calculate repair estimates for all primary and secondary systems."

Working, said the Computer. Zack took a long sip from his tea, and instantly felt better. The unique blend of calming botanicals always set him at ease. While the computer was working, Zack took a moment to reflect upon his incident with Captain Woodcroft just a short while ago.  Perhaps he had been too harsh with the younger woman...and perhaps just maybe he was a little jealous of her,  She was a new Commanding Officer after all, and she had been given the very important position of Task Force Executive Officer; Zack had several years of command seniority over her, so in his mind of minds that position should have been rightfully his. He seldom questioned the choices of superior officers, though, and this time was no different.  Zack would make an effort to issue a personal apology to Captain Woodcroft before they departed tomorrow.  Status updates complete, said the Computer.

"Display results," said Zack.  Primary systems diagnostics filled the screen; Zack was very pleased to see that the worst damage that the ship's major systems had suffered was burned out relays and isolinear chips.  Some of the secondary systems had taken a bit more damage--such as Holodeck One, which would be out of commission for several days while a significant fraction of the OHD's were replaced. He was also concerned that the Cardassian device had been able to hack their power grid so easily, so he made a mental note to have Operations and Engineering begin writing code for stronger firewalls in all of the primary and secondary systems.  The final analysis of shipboard systems was compiled into a report, and Zack viewed this report before sending.

Quote: USS Independence, NCC-57216
Systems Status Update

Primary Systems:
--Main Computer: ONLINE 82% operational--estimated repair time 10 hours
--Warp Drive Systems: ONLINE 80% operational, estimated repair time 7 hours
--Impulse Propulsion Systems: ONLINE Fully Operational
--Phaser Banks: ONLINE Overall 93% Operational; Saucer Dorsal and Ventral operating at 85% capacity, estimated repair time 4 hours
--Torpedo Launchers: ONLINE Fully Operational; remaining complement is as follows--Photon = 115; Quantum = 44; Transphasic = 5
--Transporters: ONLINE 50% operational; estimated repair time 6 hours
--Sickbay Systems: ONLINE Fully Operational
--Environmental Controls: ONLINE Fully Operational
--Artificial Gravity Generation: ONLINE Fully Operational
--Subspace Communications: ONLINE Fully Operational

Secondary Systems:
--Holodecks: ONLINE 50% Operational, estimated repair time 52 hours
--Food and Medical Replication Systems: ONLINE Fully Operational
--Solid and Liquid Waste Reclamation Systems: ONLINE Fully Operational
--Auxiliary Power Generation Systems: OFFLINE, estimated repair time 11 hours
--Antimatter Containment: ONLINE Fully Operational
--Auxiliary Computer Core: OFFLINE , estimated repair time 9 hours

Satisfied that everything was in order with his report, Zack transmitted it to Admiral Malloway. He then finished his cup of tea quickly and headed out of his Ready Room to give the repair crews--and his handsome young Chief Engineer--some encouragement.

Re: Fleet Opening Mission: To Our Future - Malcome Martize - 08-04-2011

USS Agamemnon
Ready Room
2106 hours

Malone sat down, looking out the port window as the battleship entered Thrinica's dock. The attack didn't do too much trama to the ship, but it did get a good bit of crew members injured.

This battle maybe over for the fleet now...but this wasn't over for the Command. This attack, tho unexpected, was Organized. Completely striking the territory as they were celebrating that beautiful and mysterous Ionconian structure.

"I'm gonna have to run this with Melanie...we got to know why this attack happened..." Malcone spoken to himself as he looked at the PADD carring the damage reports through out the ship. Nothing too major, other than some semi-serious damage to the portside engines. Several Phasor banks were apporching the overheat mark, very quickly. That signaled more of a problem that occured before anything was shot in the first place.

Typing a few things into the padd, listing that problem as needed to be looked at immdiately engineering. Other than that, the Agamemnon was ready to take the stars once again.

//Martize to Woodcroft. What's your status?// Malone asked after pressing his commbadge.

Melanie had just stepped off of the docking port where the USS Jerrico was docked at. the fight has been hard but successful. she turned around to her crew as they followed her.

"alright people i want you all to go back to the thunderstorm and start repairs.. You guys did good. I"m proud of you all for your hard work. after repairs are done, they'll be some downtime for you all.. good job people." she said to all of them patting their backs. She heads off with a padd in her hand looking down at the reports and suddenly Malones voice comes over the comm.

//Martize to Woodcroft. What's your status?//

She looked up slightly and taps her commbadge.

"this is woodcroft. I just stepped on to Thrinica from the Jerrico. Didint lose any crew thank god and i have reports from it as well. I"m about to give it to the Admiral once i get it all completed and double check on the thunderstorm. How are things with you and the Agamemnon?" she asked as she looked out at the ships as they came in and saw all the damage.  she sighed gently seeing them.

Callum listened to what the Admiral had to say and then replied with "Aye Sir" he was unsure if the Admiral heard him or not but left anyway to find a good spot to see the whole of the Command Deck from to see if he could see the Commodore. Callum looked around the Command Deck to see if the Commodore was there he saw her over on the far side of the room it was lucky that she was otherwise he wouldn't have known where to start looking for her even the computer wouldn't have been able to help as he doesn't know his way around the Starbase he doesn't even know his way around a galaxy class Starship properly and he has served aboard one for the last 4 years he has quite often had to ask another crew member where something is he made his way past the repair teams and walked up to the Commodore and said "Commodore Wilkinson, I am Lieutenant Commander Callum Jackson, Commanding Officer of the USS Majesty Admiral Malloway has told me to report to you on what happened to the ship is now a good time or would you like me to come back later?"

"Aye Admiral." Connor replied, he tapped the intercom. "Department heads, review all systems and submit damage reports in two hours at the senior staff meeting in the conference room." Several answered with the standard acknowledgement replies and Connor turned to the dockmaster who had just entered command. "How goes the repairs for the fleet?"

"Slowly Commander, they took a beating out there. We're doing our best." He gave the Felinoid a padd with the stats of each docked ships; one caught his attention.

"There's a Cardassian ship in dock?" Connor asked.

The dockmaster nodded. "The vessel was captured by the Agamemnon's marines and Braveheart's hazard team; they brought her inside for repairs and examination by the corps of engineers to learn the Cardassians' secrets."

Connor smiled. "Excellent, we can learn how they found us. Thank you," the dockmaster nodded and left.

A report from the Independence came in though it was meant for the Admiral, Connor noticed something. It was from the ship's chief engineer who explained about a strange device found in one of their ship's power generators that was of Cardassian origin. Connor narrowed his eyes, ~clearly a spy had boarded the Challenger-class starship and planted the device then left. The Cardassians did arrive after the Independence but a good amount of time as not to be suspicious.~ He thought and quickly approached the Admiral.

"Admiral, look at this." Connor said and handed over a copy of the report he read from the Independence's chief engineer.

Cadet Hurt Stumbled into the sike bay on the ship and was amaized by the amount of people in the room, not just officers but also cadets, as he made his way over to the other cadets he couldnt help but read some of the hurt officers minds to find out what happend, he couldnt find much.

"hey des?" Cadet hurt called out knowing that he was in the councling class and he might know more then the others how the battle went, as D.J passed a window he stoped and looked in amaizment at the sight before his eyes. The star base had taken a lot of damage in the battle. he turned his focause back on the group of cadets he sat down in a chair near them and then a doctor came over to check his burns and gases.

"were did you get the scars?" the doctor asked
"Ummmmmm....." D.J answerd not really wanting to share his past with this strange doctor.
finally D.J answerd the man "in an crash a long time ago" he pulled on his uniform as the doctor just nodded and went on his way.
D.J couldnt stop thinking about home now and what his freinds thought about this battle and knowing he was in it, the news must have traveled to earth by now..... he thought as he got up and went to get a tea he suddnety got very light headed and almost fell to the deck.

"Pass that whirligig doo-dah will you Ensign?" Steve called out as he lay on his back, upper chest and head delving inside the under-compartment of a console not too far from the main turbolift.

"The Duotronic Probe, Admiral?" They replied, picking up said equipment and passing it to the waiting hand, the Admiral grinning inainly as he accepted the tool. It was obvious the Admiral next to nothing about techno-babble. Yet, however, he did seem to know his way round the innards of his Starbase's consoles. Despite not being able to use actual words.

After a few seconds, Steve shimmied his way out of the console, using his shoulders to meander from side to side in the fashion of a snake to slithe his way clear. As he stood, he tapped the top of the console which immediately lit up and began a start-up sequence. "There, nothing to it." He winked, passing the Probe to the technician.

Quote:"Admiral, look at this." Connor said and handed over a copy of the report he read from the Independence's chief engineer.

The Admiral took the PADD from Connor, scourering through the data and information Captain Gillibrand had sent over. "How the hell did the Cardassian's get onboard the Independence?" He didnt wait for a reply, stepping aside from the groups on the Command deck with Connor. "Commander, thoughts? Thrinacia is meant to have been the best secured facility over the last few weeks with the Gateway -- what slipped past us?"

"Some cadet cruise, huh? I mean, c'mon! Who else is getting a piece of the action fresh outta the Academy? This has to beat those boring old kindergarten hand-holding jaunts everyone else gets, right? And look at this place! Starbase Thrinacia! Wow! I, uh... I don't even know what goes on here!"
When the cadet paused for breath, his companion spared him a glance.
"Shut up, Stanley," he said quietly.
"Aw, c'mon, Will," Stanley protested. "Sense of occasion, and all that."
William Angel didn't even look at him this time.
"Whatever."
Stanley opened his mouth again, but Will cut him off.
"There's an officer," he gestured with his chin, then hoiked his kitbag over his shoulder. "Let's go and see where we're supposed to be."
Will set off, leaving Stanley to catch up. They arrived beside the Lieutenant in the Command uniform and waited until he'd finished consulting his Padd.
"Can I help you, gentlemen?"
"Sir, Cadets Cotton and Angel reporting for duty, sir!" Stanley announced, a little too loud and high-pitched to appear professional. Will could sense the waves of nervous panic gushing outwards from his friend. He stifled a smile.
The officer didn't even try to hide his own smile.
"Relax, Cadet, this isn't the Academy. You come in on the Indiana?"
"Yes, sir," Will answered, a lot more calmly. "We're being transfered here until further notice."
"Well, I guess a couple of extra pairs of hands would be useful round about now," the Lieutenant's smile became slightly warmer. "Mess hall's through those doors and about a hundred metres down the corridor, second door on the right. Get something to eat and report to the briefing room at 2230 hours. You'll get your orders then."
"Thank you, sir," Will said and nudged Stanley. Together they headed in the direction indicated.
"He seemed decent enough," Stanley ventured, as they helped themselves to some real food, a stark contrast to the replicated junk they'd endured on the ship.
"Don't kid yourself," Will grumbled. "He's terrified, and hasn't even had time to get his mind back in order. He's just relieved to have reinforcements. They've been through the mill here recently. What we saw was just the back end of the battle. Anyway, let's eat."
And they took their seats, in the middle of the otherwise deserted mess hall, and wondered what was coming.

"I wish I knew sir." Connor said. "Perhaps we should check with the captain and the ship's records? I mean something would have to have been done to not draw attention to someone poking around, like a fake repair report or something." He gestured for one of the administrative assistants to approach after they had come into his field of view.

"Commander," the assistant greeted and handed over a report.

Connor smiled and nodded to the assistant. "Thank you," he turned back to Steve. "Looks like repairs are proceeding ahead of schedule, I can look into this breach of security?" He asked.
