Re: Fleet Opening Mission: To Our Future - Ethan Trane - 09-24-2010 USS Braveheart, docked with Starbase Thrinacia, Merenion Nebulae Cluster COâs Ready Room 0900 Hours Ethan sat at the desk, unaware of his surroundings, numb to any feelings. He had a lot to digest. Not only was he a Captain now, he was given the Braveheart to command both within minutes of each other. While it would have been nice to have time between each âpromotion,â Ethan knew from his time in Starfleet that that was a rare luxury. Maybe itâs to see how you will react he thought as he pressed a button on the desk, bringing to life the viewscreen that would now be where his communications derived from. After he downloaded the contents of the padd, he forwarded the invitation to all the crew. Before sending it off, he added an addendum to the end of the invitation. If he had to go, his crew would have to go as well. Quote:TO: United Federation of Planets Defence Fleet Commanding Officer While he had time before the party, He decided to sit and get used to his new office. His first order of business was a mug of hot, black coffee from the replicator. While he sipped the liquid, he walked back to the desk and began to input his command codes. "Computer, transfer command codes, authorization Trane, bravo, victor, gamma, three, six, nine." Within moments, the computer replied in the monotonous tone that everyone had become used to after only a day or two aboard a starship. "Authorization accepted, transfer complete. Welcome aboard, Captain Trane." Ethan smiled at the welcoming and brought up the ship's crew roster. though he knew some of them, he also knew that some wouldn't be returning from the starbase. There were always a few who decided a transfer was needed, either for a change of pace or to get away from someone or something. Either way, he wanted to know who would be with him during his first endeavor, whenever it began. TAG: [b]ALL BRAVEHEARTIANS Re: Fleet Opening Mission: To Our Future - Malone Martize - 09-25-2010 Starbase Thrinica Dock of the Agamenmon Malone greeted her back with a smile and shook her hand. Dang she was a looker as well. "Nice observation. Pleasure to meet Commander." He said. "I'm happy to have you, I skimmed over a good bit of your Service Record, I must say I'm impressed." He added. [Tag Leanna] USS Independence - Captain's Office Haven had stepped off the transporter pad, looking around as one of the security personnel had escorted him to Gillibrand's office. The Independnce was a pretty sound ship, from the looks, feel and color. The hallways and cordoors had many stories to tell. "This is his office sir." The officer said, leading him to the small cordoor where the adminstration for the ship had lay. Haven nodded slightly and walked over and rung the chimes, his bags cluttering lightly in his hands. [Tag Gillibrand] Starbase Thrinaica - Visitors Port 18 USS Fairmount "Great...a formal party...how interestingly boring..." The young hispanic whispered to himself. His foot tapped impantiantly as his ship arrived in port of Starbase Thrinica. He didn't want to be here. As a matter of fact, he wanted to be far away from here...after he heard his father was also on this Station. After a few non-interesting moments, the hispanic disembarked the civilian cruiser and made it to his turn at the security check point. "Malcome Martize. Transferred Chief of Security for assignment to the USS Thunderstorm." He said to the security officer, who validated the title and name. The officer nodded as the computer agreed. He took a card and gave it to Malcome. "Your registration checks out. The USS Thunderstorm is in dock 4. You'll be reporting to Captain Melanie Woodcroft." He said. Malcome nodded as he took the card. "Thank you." He said and walked through the sensor and over to the conveor belt and picked up his bags. A breath of relief escaped his lips as he picked up the bags. He wasn't in the same command with his father. It was worse enough to him, that he was sevring him under the same Task Force. Unfortnatly, it wasn't under his control at all at where he'd go. At least he was in the command of a female officer this time. He sighed as he looked at the padd with invitation once more. He always hated formal gatherings. Nothing more than just folks that get together in fancy clouthes, talk about mineal or useless stuff and fake being full off of a skinny plate of some sort of small, dead insect and call it a dinner. He hoped it was a buffet if that was the case... After another few moments of traveling, he rounded a corner and came up on the port of the Thunderstorm. He turned and looked out the bar spaced window wall. She was a beautiful Intrepid crusier weight class. He stood there staring at his soon to be new home. Torin Elano, Chief of Operations, USS Braveheart] USS Braveheart Turbolift car 1-B 1135 hours After locating their quarters, Torin and Rennan had spent a short while putting a few things away. Mostly personal momentos, things that they wanted to store in personal databases and such. They still had a good amount of time before this "Ceremony" at 1900, whatever that entailed. All Torin knew was that it required dress uniforms. He and Rennan had left at the same time, both intending to report in to their respective superiors. Rennan was off to meet Lieutenant Commander Grant, the Chief of Security & Tactical; Torin, being a department head and therefore a member of the Senior Staff, was off to find either Commander Grax or Captain Trane. Torin had received a message upon arriving from Captain Trane, rehashing the details of the Ceremony and stating that he would see them there. Torin's previous information regarding the Ceremony had come from Captain McGriff, so apparently there had been a change of command very recently, within the last few hours. Torin had dealt with the same commanding officer for his entire career so far, so the change of command on the Braveheart was immaterial to him. The maglev motors in the turbolift car hummed softly, making the brief transit without incident. The doors to the car hissed open loudly and Torin stepped onto the bridge, which was not busy but still ad a normal level of activity for a vessel docked at a Starbase. The CONN station was vacant, for obvious reasons; there was, after all, nothing to do for a pilot while the ship was docked. Torin leaned over to take a look at the Ops console, noting its configuration and making a mental note to update it to his preferences once he was officially on duty. To hell with it, he thought. I may as well take care of it now. "Computer," he began. "Upload Ops console configuration Elano-two from my personal database. Prepare for console configuration update and reset, authorization Elano nine seven gamma sierra." Configuration uploaded, said the Computer in its dull, inflectionless female monotone. Standing by for update and reset. "Enable updates and reset console. Configuration Elano-two when I log in to the console." Acknowledged, said the Computer. Torin didn't bother with thanking the computer, because it would then make some sort of Vulcanesque remark to such a rhetorical statement. Satisfied, Torin turned on his heel and headed toward the Ready Room, which the Computer had indicated a few minutes ago was the location of Captain Trane. Torin rang the chime and was instructed to enter. The door hissed open and he walked through, finding the Captain seated at his desk. Torin approached, stiffening only slightly and coming to a reasonable approximation of attention. "Good morning Sir," he said. "Torin Elano reporting for duty as Chief of Operations." [tag: Ethan] Re: Fleet Opening Mission: To Our Future - Ethan Trane - 09-26-2010 USS Braveheart, Docked with Starbase Thrinacia CO's Ready Room 1145 Hours Ethan remained at his desk, going over the crew roster, of those who had decided to stay along with a couple newcomers. while going through the shift rotations, he heard the chime ring. "Enter," he said without looking up from the gamma shift schedule. "Good morning Sir," he said. "Torin Elano reporting for duty as Chief of Operations." Looking up, the first thing that Ethan noticed were the black eyes of the man standing in front of him, indicative of the betazeds. Smiling as he stood, Ethan returned the salutation and extended his hand, "Good morning, Commander." he had remembered seeing the Chief of Operations listed on the Alpha shift just a few moments ago. Waving to the seat in front of the desk, Ethan sat in his own. He wanted everyone of his crew to feel comfortable approaching him, and the only way to do that was to always be available. Though he was a bit nervous, this being his first 'welcome aboard' speech, he felt relatively calm giving it. "Feel free to get settled, with either your quarters, your station or the ship. Or if you want, feel free to spend some time aboard the Starbase and take advantage of the downtime we actually have. I am assuming you received the copy of the ceremony at 1900 in teh main gallery of the Starbase? We will all be attending." Though he didn't have much time to roam the Starbase, he planned on heading there right after this meeting. There were a couple hours before his debrief, and he wanted to peruse a few shops. "If there is anything you need, feel free to ask." Ethan said as he stood making his way to the replicator for another mug of coffee. "Something to drink?" Tag: Torin Re: Fleet Opening Mission: To Our Future - Steve Malloway - 09-26-2010 Posting as Lt. Cmdr. Michael Gregrez, incoming Chief Engineer for USS Braveheart -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- USS Barbaranne, enroute to Starbase Thrinacia Engineering Section 1125 hours "Barbaraaaaaaane, just take my haaaaaaand... Bar-bar-bar-baraaaaaaane-" "Do you mind? I've told you enough times that gets on my nerves." Michael grinned, popping his head over the top of the terminal from having being knelt on the otherside. "My apologies Ensign, I just thought the extra lyrical ambience would add to the mood." He mused, watching the younger female Engineer sit up from her own side of the console. "What mood? I've been assigned to dis-assemble a ruddy dilithium intermix monitoring station." She did not look impressed as she made eye contact with Michael. "And what fun we're having, eh?" Michael winked, placing his hyperspanner on the top of the console and reattaching the panel he'd removed with a simple click. "I've removed the couplings from this side, hows it looking your end?" He stood, walking around to stand behind the Ensign as she bent back down to continue in her own side. Michael mentally scalded himself and his eyes as they roamed up the lower back of the officer. No, bad man, bad bad man. He laughed internally as he straightened his back, the Ensign moving back from her work to reattach her own side too. "All done." As she spoke, Michael had moved to pick up one side, mimiced by his accomplice a moment later so they began to walk slowly through Engineering of the Galaxy Class ship. "Commander... mind telling me why you're helping again?" Michael looked up at the Ensign, narrowing his eyes in amusement as he smiled a little. All he was meant to be doing was offering advice to the young crew on his way through to his new assignment; The USS Braveheart, NCC-95624, Sovereign Class. The name sounded perfect, fit amazingly with the sleek class she was built to spec against. He couldnt wait to start sliding his fingers here there and everywhere in her- "Sir?" Michael looked up, shaking his head slightly as he began to reply. "Sorry Ensign, day-dream. Being an Engineer, I cant sit still for long, nor stand back and watch. These hands were made for working, and thats just what they'll do," He grinned as the Ensign rolled her eyes as Michael's voice took up a melody, "AND ONE OF THESE DAYS THESE HANDS ARE GONNA WORK ALL OVER YOU!" He called aloud, laughing in time with some of the other Engineers within earshot, his gaze fixing back on an unimpressed Ensign. "Oh relax, Ensign. Chief's not on-duty and I'm the most senior officer here. Have fun!" As they placed the console down with a few others that had been dettached, Michael turned when his ears picked up the call of his name and rank 'Lieutenant Commander Gregrez'. "Yes Commander?" He addressed his fellow rank-ian, taking the offered PADD, reading the short message upon the smaller screen. "Ah, perfect." He smiled. "We should be arriving at Thrinacia in approximately 52 minutes from now." He winked at the Lt. Cmdr as he handed her back the PADD. "Thank you." "Great, rid of you soon." The Ensign mused, smiling as Michael turned back to look at her with a playful mimed shocked epxression across his face. "Ensign, I feel hurt." He grinned, walking around the console to offer his arm to the officer. "As punishment, would you care to join me for a coffee in Ten Forward?" With a small nod as she took his arm, both Engineers waltzed from Engineering, making their way for a drink or two before arriving at the Starbase, and later the USS Braveheart for her newly appointed Chief of Engineering. TAG: No-one? Seeing as I'm not there yet XD Unless someone else is stealing a ride, lol Re: Fleet Opening Mission: To Our Future - Zack Gillibrand - 09-27-2010 [posting as LtCmdr. Torin Elano, Chief of Operations, USS Braveheart] USS Braveheart Captain's Ready Room 1147 hours As Captain Trane greeted him and extended a hand for a handshake, a greeting that had become customary for most of the civilized galaxy thanks to the Human race, Torin steeled himself for the telepathic onslaught that physical contact often brought. He was a very strong telepath by his people's standards, and skin contact amplified the ability by an order of magnitude. Still, as he shook the captain's hand, Torin felt only a slight difference--a testament to the power of modern medicine, specifically the mild telepathic suppressant theragenic isocyanate. He returned the Captain's smile and took the offered seat, folding his hands casually on top of his right knee. "Feel free to get settled," the Captain began, "with either your quarters, your station or the ship. Or if you want, feel free to spend some time aboard the Starbase and take advantage of the downtime we actually have. I am assuming you received the copy of the ceremony at 1900 in the main gallery of the Starbase? We will all be attending." "My husband and I have both pressed our dress uniforms for the occasion Sir," said Torin with a wry smile. He wasn't sure how Captain Trane would react to his being married to a man. Most of his and Rennan's professional colleagues had been very accepting, but there still were a select few that had made snide remarks behind their back. Torin reminded all of them that this is the twenty-fourth century and that such provincial attitudes were unbecoming of a Starfleet officer. And if that didn't work, he would get Rennan after them. At 1.95 meters tall and just over 105 kilograms, Rennan was well-suited to intimidating people if necessary. "If there is anything you need, feel free to ask." the Captain said as he stood making his way to the replicator for another mug of coffee. "Something to drink?" "A Kaferian apple fizz, if you don't mind," said Torin. The beverages materialized in a swirling vortex of blue-white photonic energy and the Captain brought them over. Torin took a large sip of the pale green drink, savoring the distinctive tartness that only Kaferian apples had. "I"m not sure in how much detail my file goes into about this, Captain, but I am one of the few officers affected by Starfleet Code section eighty-six. Because I am rated by Starfleet as a 'higher order telepath' I am required by regulations to take a schedule-one telepathic suppressant daily. It helps me maintain control and not read the thoughts that radiate constantly from people. You don't know how many times people have tried to get me to switch to the counseling track," said Torin with a chuckle. "But I love what I do, Sir, and so does my husband Rennan. We will both serve you and the Braveheart faithfully and to the best of our ability." [tag: el Capitano] Re: Fleet Opening Mission: To Our Future - Ethan Trane - 09-28-2010 USS Braveheart, docked with Starbase Thrinacia Ready Room 1150 Hours As Ethan walked to the replicator, he listened to Torin explain about having a husband. Setting his old mug into the opening, Ethan heard Torinâs request and entered it and another mug of coffee. Taking both drinks from the replicator back to his desk, Ethan slid the apple fizz to Torin and sat back down, cradling his mug in both hands. âTo be honest Torin, I donât have a problem with your marriage; however, I canât speak for the rest of the crew. I will say this though; you are expected to follow the same rules as everyone else. If anyone has a problem with anything you do, you will refrain from doing so in their presence. Likewise, if anyone does anything that offends you, the same rule applies. Basically, what I am saying is, as long as it doesnât cause a problem, or distract the rest of the crew, or the both of you, from your duties, I donât have a problem.â Ethan sipped at his coffee before continuing, âI hope you donât take any of this the wrong way, but I will have a problem if this creates issues where either you, or anyone else lets it interfere with the running of my ship.â Ethan looked at the man across from him, making sure he was understood. He thought he was pretty easy going, and accepting of everyone, as long as it didnât create undue problems. âAs far as your medication, is this something that needs to be regulated by the Doctor, or can you keep and administer it yourself?â Ethan was out of his element here with medications, it might as well be alien language. âI thank you for the offer of your service. I appreciate that, and if there is anything you need help with, or if you feel the crew are getting out of control with your marriage, after the obvious steps in the chain of command, feel free to let me know and we will do what we can to get it resolved. However, this is not a free pass to run around saying you have the Captain on your side. Use the chain of command first, and me if that fails to fix the problem. Hopefully this is all just overkill and we never have to get to that point, but I wanted to say it so you know you can come to me if need beâ Ethan sat back, took another sip of the liquid and set his mug I on the desk. He waited for all of what he said to sink in with Torin to see how he would react and to see if there were going to be any issues from his Chief of Operationâs side of the equation. As he entered the far side of the Merenion Nebulae Cluster he slowed his fighter to impulse and returned to manual operations. Another ten minutes and he would be in visual range of the base. He was interested to see the progress that had been made on the project that his old friend had been place in charge of. " Computer call up starfighter operations records for Starbase Thrinacia. Security access Targus Alpha two tango." The computer responded with its normal beep and started to display the operations status and statistics of the base into Draco's HUD. As he looked over it he saw that Sage's Craft was on a security lock down by her orders but not in a restricted hanger as was required by policy. Damn them. I guess I will have to fix that when i get there. he thought to himself as he read throughtheh rest of the craft listing. with moments he cleared the nebula and was able to see the starbase. As he fully cleared the electostatic field of the nebula he opened a channel to the base =^= Starfighter Tango 0 to Starbase Thrinacia flight operations. permission to dock is requested. transmitting security access and orders.=^= and with a tap of the conn the orders were sent and Draco awaited permission to dock.
